WILBERT JOHN DENOR

Wilbert John Denor, age 84, was called to his Heavenly Home suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital with his family at his side.

Wilbert was born July 23, 1924, in the town of Franklin, to the late Joseph and Mary (Gerl) Denor. Wilbert served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves and was on active duty in Japan.

On Oct. 21, 1950, he took Florence Behnke as his loving bride.During his lifetime, he spent his days farming, working at the Brillion Iron Works, the Reedsville Co-op, the Village of Reedsville and Reedsville Equity. Wilbert also served on the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at their camper in Shawano, playing cards with his son-in-laws and friends at the equity.

He and Florence were members of the I Love to Dance Club where he served as president for several years. He loved polka music and the Green Bay Packers.
He was a member of St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville where he served on the church council and various boards throughout the years.
Wilbert especially enjoyed spending time with his family, sharing stories and watching with pride as his family grew.
Wilbert was generous and kind, a giving man, always the first to lend a helping hand.He touched the lives of many people.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Julius and Ruth Behnke; a great-granddaughter: Sadie Denor; five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. The Rev. Timothy Nommensen will officiate. Entombment will be in the Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc.
