Irene G. Garcia, age 79, passed away Friday, June 9, 2000,in Albuquerque, N.M.
She was born August 28, 1920 in Socorro, N.M. to Juan and Teresita (Trujillo) Gonzales.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucas Garcia; Daughter Lucy Garcia, Sons Jerry and Joe Richard Garcia, Grandson Joe Edward Garcia, Her sisters, Maria Genera and Gertrude Long, and a brother Johnny Trujillo. She is survived by her two daughters Jeanette Garcia-Jaramillo and husband Danny of Las Cruces, N.M. and Barbara Garcia- Gutierrez and husband, Joe of Socorro; sisters, Priscilla Saavedra and Eustaquio, Ramona Apodaca, Linda Griego and Josie Torres all of Socorro; brothers Frank Gonzales and wife Desi and Max Gonzales all of Socorro; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Rosary was recited on Sunday, June 11, 2000, at 8:30 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 12, at 11:00a.m. at San Miguel Church with Father Bill Sanchez as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Family Plot, San Miguel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Frankie Padilla, Jr., Kenneth Santillanes, James Gutierrez, Jerry Gutierrez, Danny Jaramillo, Douglas Torres. Arrangements by Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, Socorro, N.M.
