Priscilla was born in Socorro, NM on April 28, 1930, to Juan and Teresita Trujillo Gonzáles.
Priscilla was a lifelong resident of Socorro and was the middle child of her three brothers and six sisters.
Priscilla was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. Priscilla loved playing fast pitch softball and was the pitcher for the Diamond Lils. Priscilla had quite a collection of trophies that she received during her softball career. Priscilla was known to have broken the hand of a catcher or two with her arm speed.
Priscilla worked in healthcare for most of her life. Priscilla began working at the old hospital in Socorro until it closed and then continued working after the new Socorro General Hospital was built.
Priscilla was very devoted to her family and strong in her faith. Priscilla made sure that anyone who came to visit her never left hungry.
Priscilla will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Eustaquio Saavedra, her parents, brothers, Johnny Trujillo Gonzáles, Frank Gonzáles and Max Gonzáles, sisters, Maria "Concha" Gianera, Irene García, Ramona Trujillo, Gertrude Long and Josie Torres.
Priscilla is survived by sons, Joe Daniel Saavedra and Edward Leroy Saavedra and his wife, Patty, sister, Linda Griego, grandchildren, Zach Saavedra and Amaiah Saavedra.
A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro with the Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Father Andrew Pavlak presiding. Burial will take place at the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be Zach Saavedra, Amaiah Saavedra, Salo Montaño, William Griego, Bruce Harrison and Wade Tyler. Honorary pallbearers are Linda Griego, Pam Griego and Yolanda Gómez. A reception will be held immediately following the burial at the DAV, 200 5th N., Socorro.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM 87801.
