BRILLION -- Emil Enneper, long time resident of our community until his retirement a little less than ten years ago, passed away at Danville, Ill., enroute returning to Brillion to make his home. He had stopped at the Carleton Werner home there. Mrs. Werner is the former Irmgard Enneper.

His death came as a shock to his many friends here who had been looking forward to greeting his return. With his wife, he had been dividing his time between Gibsonton, Fla. And Bailey’s Harbor, Door County, when ill health caught up with him in Florida. Mr. Enneper shared his civic responsibilities while a resident of our community, participating actively in fraternal groups, and sharing responsibilities in the city’s government. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Green Bay chapter after surrender of the local chapter, he was active on local Masonic order, a member of EUB church and occupied for several years the chairs of Village trustee and city alderman during the transition from Village to city. He was a trustee from 1940 to 1944 in which years the village was incorporated as a city and continued to serve as Alderman until 1956 when he resigned in November. He was president of the city council from 1954 to 1956.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Evangelical United Brethren Church, Brillion, the Rev. Willard Albertus officiating. Burial was in Nicolet Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Green Bay.

Enneper was born June 20, 1889, in Germany and emigrated to America when he was 17. He married Minnie Arnhoelter May 30, 1913. He was in partnership in Kloehn Electric Co., Brillion for 37 years until his retirement. Enneper was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Ruskin, Florida, also.
