She was born in Frankfort, NY on November 15, 1922, a daughter of the late Herbert and Lillian Bohling Staring and was educated in local schools.
On January 3, 1942, she was married to Frederick Carlson, a blessed union of 64 years until his passing in 2006.
In her early years, Mildred was employed for many years by the Westinghouse Corp. as a home economist, and later by Faxton Hospital, as the switchboard operator, until her retirement. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life centered around her family. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Surviving are her beloved grandchildren Andrea and Anthony Barres of New Hartford, Richard A. Mody of Marcy, Jason and Emerline Kelsey of MD and Brian and Amber Kelsey of Mass.; her cherished great-grandchildren Alexandrea, Anthony, Michael and Joseph Barres, Annika, Ethan, Addison, Elias and Parker Kelsey; a dear family friend James Jordan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mildred was blessed with the companionship of many people who provided her comfort and friendship throughout the years. The family is thankful for their love and support.
She was predeceased by her two beloved daughters Karen L. Carlson (Mody) and Miriam Kelsey, who were always close to her heart.
