CLARA SAMZ

Mrs. Joseph J. Samz, 81, of 1016 Flambeau St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday at home.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. D.L. Krembs officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.

Mrs. Samz was born Clara Rouiller Aug. 13, 1884, in the Town of Gibson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Rouiller. She was married in 1909 to Francis St. Pierre at Two Rivers. He died in 1920. She was remarried June 6, 1921, to Mr. Samz at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple resided at Argonne, Forest County, until 1945, moving to Manitowoc. She was a member of St. Therese Society at St. Andrew Church.

Surviving are the husband, three daughters, Mrs. William (Elaine) Fitzgerald and Mrs. Thomas (Rita) Skidmore of Manitowoc and Mrs. Thomas (Angeline) McDonald of Alexandria, Va.; a stepson, Vincent Samz, of Manitowoc; a step-daughter, Mrs. Henry (Frances) Kurtz, of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Cecilia Schultz of Manitowoc; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A step-daughter, three brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. by the St. Therese Society and parish members.
