Madeleine Blanchard was born in Saint-Martin-de-Ré, Aunis [Charente-Maritime], France, a daughter of François Blanchard and Anne Hervé.

Huguenot.

As a girl, she was taken from Île de Ré by her parents with her siblings as a consequence of religious persecution. The family relocated to Amsterdam by December 1737, where they lived on Sint Jansstraat. The family was next in Manhattan in 1739.

Madeleine Blanchard married
(1) Jean Trumeau [John Truman] in 1749 and
(2) Martin Brard on 27 March 1766.

Mother of at least five children.

She died after 28 August 1768.
