Dessie R. Gonzales, 73, a lifelong resident of Socorro, surrounded by her family and friends, went to be with Jesus in Heaven on Sunday, February 24, 2002.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Frank T. Gonzales; son, Michael Gonzales and wife, Gloria of Belen, NM; daughter, Teresa Epps and husband, Ronnie of Ceres, CA; daughter, Frances Ramos of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Debbie Baca and husband, Roy of Socorro, NM; daughter, Geralyn Cutchall of Waterford, CA; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Gonzales of Socorro, NM; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother, Ben Rivera and wife, Cindy; sister, Sister Marianna Rivera; sister, Tita Sanchez and husband, Lio; sister, Alice Costa and husband, Richard; sisters-in-law, Mary Rivera, Cecelia Rivera, Evelyn Rivera; brother-in law, Frank Cordova; and many nieces and nephews. Dessie was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel B. Rivera and Gertrude Romero Rivera; three brothers, Dan Rivera, Tony Rivera, and Joe Rivera; sister, Nina Cordova; and grandson, Danny Epps.
Christian Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 28, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Garcia Opera House, 110 Abeyta Ave. West, Socorro, NM. Viewing will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2002, from 5:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m. and on Thursday, February 28, 2002, from 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. at the Garcia Opera House.
