Patti Wynn Mahler passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Porter, April 5, 2006. After a long battle with chronic myelogenous leukemia, Patti chose to end her battle by stopping her treatments in March, 2006.

Patti had a very personal relationship with her heavenly Father and knew beyond any doubt that He had prepared a place for her in His glorious kingdom.

Patti was born Aug. 29, 1920 and was a long time resident of Orchard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Mahler in 1986.

She is survived by her four children: Larry Mahler and wife, Norma Jean, of Trinity, Gaye Blunt and husband, Don, of Porter, Neal Mahler and wife, Sally, of Crestview, Fla., and Steven Mahler and wife, Angie, of Orchard. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Surviving family also includes her sister, Winona Rolf and husband, Andrew, of Eagle Lake; brother, Robby Wynn and wife, Patsy, of Mooreville; sisters-in-law: Edna Murphy of Richmond, Alenne Wynn of Giddings, and Amy Mahler of Richmond.

Patti was a school teacher for 40 years; most of these years were spent in the Orchard School District. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Orchard.

Patti now walks Heaven's streets of gold where there is no more suffering.
