Albert Blachford Taken By Death
Albert Blachford, Sr., 88, of 819 Whitney boulevard, a retired farmer and former poultrey buyer, died at his home at 5:20 a.m. Saturday. He had been in failing health for 14 years.
He was born in Spring township March 16, 1873, the son of Francis and Jane Atkinson Blachford. He was educated at the former Curtis school and was married to Daisy Heywood Dec. 3, 1913 in Belvidere. All his life was spent in the Boone county area.
Survivors include the widow; five sons, Francis and Donald, Belvidere, Eli of Caledonia, Albert, Jr., Capron, and William, Poplar Grove; six daughters, Mrs. Ray Sullivan, Mrs. Ralph Hildebrand, Mrs. Hubert Kays, Mrs. Robert Pinkerton and Mrs. Gerald Bowen, all of the Belvidere area, and Mrs. Raymond Blachford of Miller, S.D.; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Harvey of Miller, S.D.
Funeral arrangements are not complete, but services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Witbeck-Wheeler-Sabien funeral home.
