Donald L. Blachford, 90, of Belvidere, IL passed away on Friday, April 22, 2021. Son of the late Albert and Daisy Belle (Heywood) Blachford, he was born on Sunday, October 19, 1930 in Belvidere, IL. He graduated from Belvidere High School Class of 1948. Donald went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life Barbara J. Glaser on January 15, 1955. Donald was a machinist by trade working at Mattison Machine Works in Rockford, IL and eventually owning his own manufacturing company. His hobbies included farming, and spending time with his family. He was known as the family handyman. Donald is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Barbara; daughters, Nancy (Danny) Pearse, Sue (David) Nordman; grandchildren, Angie (Dave) Ostler, Jacob (Jenni) Pearse, Tyler (Manylay) Pearse, Matt Nordman, Ben Nordman, Julianna Nordman; great grandchildren, Emma Pearse, Sophia Pearse, Hazel Ostler, Owen Ostler, Meghann Ostler; sisters, Bernietta Kays, Margaret Karrienan. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Daisy; sisters, Jane Sullivan, Lorraine Blachford, Alberta Bowen, Theo Hildebrand; brothers, Francis (Bud) Blachford, Eli Blachford, Albert Blachford Jr., William Blachford, 2 infant brothers.
