She was the daughter of Joseph Lawson Anderson & Hannah Firman Anderson. She was born & raised in the area known as the Beechwoods area of Sullivan County, NY.

She became the wife of Richard Peters, son of Richard S. Peters & Rebecca (Slater) Peters, on February 11, 1849.

Richard was killed in 1863, when a bee tree accidentally fell on him as it was being cut down by neighbors. His widow Nancy later married Ira Peet of Jeffersonville. She died a year later at the age of 36. There is no further information on Ira Peet.

When Nancy Jane died in 1865, she left 3 young children who were then orphaned. Roswill E., Fannie Rebecca, and Hannah Jane Peters were raised by their grandparents, Joseph Lawson Anderson & Hannah Firman Anderson.

We have been unable to find the burial places for Richard & Nancy Peters, or for Ira Peet.
