"Isaac Anderson was born on February 25, 1825; the oldest son of Joseph Lawson Anderson and Hannah Firman Anderson.

He was better known as Judge Anderson in Sullivan County, New York. He taught school for a number of years; then studied Law with Albert Bush of Liberty. He located at Jeffersonville, and became one of the best lawyers in Sullivan County. He was elected District Attorney; then County Judge and later ran for a member of Congress.

He was never married. He did much work in raising volunteers for the Civil War. He was a true American. He died in Jeffersonville in 1871 at the age of 47 years. He was buried in Jeffersonville Cemetery with Masonic Honors F & A M.
