Emil M. Jagodinsky, age 83, of 1012A Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, September 20, 1998.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 1998, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. William Zimmer will officiate with burial of his cremated remains at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Jagodinsky was born August 17, 1915, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Theresa Bohman Jagodinsky. He attended school in Manitowoc. He entered the Merchant Marine Service in 1943, and was discharged from the United States Coast Guard in 1945. Emil was a Great Lakes Seaman working for Standard Oil, Ashland Oil, and also on the Carferry retiring in 1967. From 1967 up until his retirement in 1980 he worked for Mirro Aluminum Rolling Mill. On July 5, 1952, Emil was married to Betty Jane Dilthany, at Manitowoc. He was a member of the Maritime Union and the Manitowoc Eagles Aerie #706.

Survivors include his wife Betty, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law, Emil J. (Michell) Jagodinsky, Hambre, Calif.; one daughter Jane Jagodinsky, Manitowoc; one brother, John Jagodinsky, Manitowoc; one sister and two brothers-in-law, Lucille (Earl) Miller, Manitowoc, Donald Scott, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Emil was preceded in death by one son, Peter Jagodinsky; and one sister, Rita Scott.

Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory, Manitowoc, is serving the family.
