Man Is Found Dead at Home

MANITOWOC -
John W. Junk, 39, of Rt. 5, Manitowoc, was found dead in his bed in a new home he was building in the town of Manitowoc Rapids Wednesday morning by neighbors.

Mr. Junk, who was building the home during his off hours, was last seen Monday evening.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 9 o'clock at St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Clement Kern will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

He was born in Athens, Wis., in 1913 and came to Manitowoc with his parents in 1924. He attended the parochial school and the Manitowoc Vocational School. For the past 16 years, he was employed by the Schuette Construction Company. He was a member of the AFL teamsters union.

Survivors are his mother, Mrs. William Junk of this city; five brothers, William Jr., Andrew, Phillip, Julius and Raymond of this city; five sisters, Sister Mary Violato of the Holy Family Convent, Mrs. Vernon Theyerl of Francis Creek and Mrs. Eric Bugs. Mrs. Edward Spiering and Miss Elizabeth of this city.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.
