MIDDLEBURG — Mary Lovetta Krouse Thomas, of Middleburg, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Graysonview Assisted Living where she lived for the past six years.
She was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Middlecreek Township, Snyder County, a daughter of Harry S. and Annie R. (Brouse) Krouse. On March 28, 1948, she married Harold H. Thomas, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2008.
Earlier in life, Mary was employed by Pennsylvania House, Lewisburg and the Beavertown Shirt Factory. After marrying Harold, she helped him with his poultry business until his retirement.
Mary was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Kratzerville, which was a very important part of her life.
Mary is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Kathy Thomas and Larry and Christine Thomas, all of Middleburg; four grandchildren, Christopher and Jennifer Thomas, of York, Jeremie and Gaye Thomas, of Coal Township, Rachael Thomas and Rebecca and Dakota Ettinger, all of Middleburg; four great-grandchildren, Trent and Jocelyn Thomas and Bentley and Bridgette Ettinger; two sisters, Erma Berge and Jean Walter; one sister-in-law, Lena Eberly; one brother-in-law, Ernest Renninger; and 13 nieces and nephews, Carol, Doris, Ronald, Phyllis, Patricia, Stephen, Marilyn, David, John, Kenneth, Harry, Clair and Susan.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Renninger and Dorothy Krouse; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Urie, Ray and Ruth Kline and Clair and Dorothy Kline; and one brother-in-law, Richard Walter.
Mary will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Friends and family may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4298 Route 204, Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Dr. Lois Martin officiating.
Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Kratzerville
