Helen Marie Hess, a resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life, Friday, January 9, 2015, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was born, October 21, 1939, in Fair Oaks, Arkansas, the daughter of Virgil and Leota Sue Benegar Young.
She married Mr. James Henry Hess on December 2, 1980. She was a 1956 Graduate of Wynne High School, retired from East Arkansas Mental Health as the Drug and Alcohol Safety Education Coordinator. Helen enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, canning, reading, going to the Horse races and Razorback football. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers: Homer, Oran, Roy, Chester, Ivory and Vernon Young, and one grandson: Adam Hess.
Mrs. Hess is survived by her Husband of thirty-four years: James Hess of Wynne, Arkansas, two sons: Doug Sullivan and his wife Rhonda of Wynne, Arkansas, Jim Hess and his wife Pam of Wynne, Arkansas, Darrell Hess and his wife Sherri of Wynne, Arkansas, one daughter: Connie Brawner and her husband Dunn of Wynne, Arkansas, one brother: Jerry Young of Maumelle, Arkansas, two sisters: Elgie Busby of Wynne, Arkansas, Linda Young of Wynne, Arkansas, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wynne. Interment was in Johnson Cemetery. Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
