A talented draughtsman, Ted Yarborough was raised in McComb Mississippi but spent most of his adult life in Houston, Texas. On 18 December 1959, he married Norma Jean Gerber (b. 1942) and they raised three daughters: Susan (b. 1961), Teresa (b. 1961), and Annalisa (b. 1965). Ted died of lung cancer and was cared for in his final illness by his sister Julie.
