In 1941 he entered the U. S. Army and spent five years in the armed services, being discharged in 1945.
On June 22, 1946 he was united marriage to Elderoine Kluver. They have made their home in Alexandria, since their marriage. Delbert had been in failing health for the past year and died at the Douglas County hospital, June 23, 1964 at the age of 46 years.
Surviving are his wife, Elderoine; five children: Ronald, Donald, Shirley, Michael and Judy all at home. Also surviving are two sisters and three brothers: Dorothy (Mrs. Henry Engfer0 of Alexandria; Viola (Mrs. Daniel Porter) of Hopkins; Freddie, Raymond and Arthur of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran church, Alexandria, June 27, 1964. The Rev. K. K. Hill officiated. Interment was at Kinkead cemetery, Alexandria, Minn. Pallbearers were Willard Jerome, Johnnie Bergstrom, Donald Borchert, Robert Mrnak, Charles Zaviska and Lloyd Geisness.
