Died, at Baillytown, Porter Co, Ia., on the 29th ult. Mrs. Mary Esther, wife of Mr. John H. Whistler of that place, aged thirty years, six months and two days. She has left an affectionate husband, and an interesting family of five young children. She died of internal hemorrhage soon after giving birth to a healthy son. Medical aid was sent for in due time, but did not arrive until a few minutes after her decease.

Inscription
Joseph and Marie's daughter, Esther Bailly Whistler, is also interred here, according to Mrs. Howe, who states in her book that her aunt was buried at the foot of the wooden cross. There is no marker.
