Meissner, Rose M.

Rose M. Meissner, age 76, of 3403 Lowell St., Two Rivers, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee, surrounded by her loving family.

Rose was born July 20, 1936, in Rice Lake, a daughter of the late Joseph and Myrtle (Amans) Parkos. She graduated from Algoma High School with the class of 1954. On Nov. 12, 1955, she married the love of her life and best friend, Daniel F. "Boots" Meissner, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edward Radey officiated at the ceremony. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2007. Rose was a stay at home mom and later employed at Hansen the Florist for many years until her retirement in 2002. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, reading, doing puzzles, gardening, and was a member of the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons and four daughters: Randy and Mary Kay Meissner, Two Rivers, Sue and Glenn Kurtz, Newton, Laura and Jeff Jasper, Mishicot, Deb and Jamie Sieracki, Two Rivers, John and Cheri Meissner, Two Rivers, Mark and Linda Meissner, St. Charles, Mo., and Patty and Mark Jacquart, Two Rivers; 14 grandchildren: Lisa (Brian) Warner, Amy Meissner (special friend, Brian), David Meissner (special friend, Becca), Kris (Marian) Kowalski, Aaron (Jenn Backus) Kowalski, Steve Kowalski, Justin Laurin, Heather Laurin (special friend, Tim), Dr. Sarah (Dr. Brad) Zinkel, Liz Jacquart (special friend, Keith), Cardan Meissner, Danny Meissner, Alec Meissner, and Noah Jacquart; five great grandchildren: Kyle, Tyler and Haylee Kowalski, and Ashton and Scarlett Warner. She is further survived by three sisters: Jeannette Thomas, Diane Frenz and Sara Parkos, all of Two Rivers, three brothers: Dennis Parkos, Manitowoc, Eugene (Charlene) Parkos, Connecticut, and Joey (Thelma) Parkos, California; brothers-in-law: Roland (Grace) Meissner Jr. and Paul (Janice) Meissner, all of Shoto; sisters-in-law: Janet Parkos, Kewaunee, Nancy Duthey, Tennessee, and Darlene Parkos, California, Eunice Braun and Ione Kornely, both of Shoto, Shirley Holly, North Carolina, Donna (Roy) Petska, Shoto, Margaret Meissner; along with nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and and husband, she was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Mary Ann Meissner; sisters: Doris (Irvin) Gillis and Betty (Lester) Anschutz; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Roland C. and Viola Meissner; four brothers: Jim (Loretta) Parkos, Stanley Parkos, Don Parkos and Jerry Parkos; and in-laws: Vernon (Bonnie) Meissner, Kenneth (Elaine) Meissner, Glen Meissner, Paul Frenz, Don Thomas, Eddie Braun, Tony Kornely, and Chuck Holly.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, on Thursday evening, December 20, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, on Friday morning, December 21, 2012, from 9 until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Memorials, in Rose's name, may be made to the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Bell Tower Fund.

The Meissner family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff in Surgical ICU at St. Luke's Medical Center and to Dr. Barylak and the nurses and staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic.
