JERRY D. PARKOS Entered into rest January 15, 2007 in Alameda, CA, after a long battle with ALS. Born January 31, 1948 in Algoma, WI, to Myrtle and Joseph Parkos, he was 58. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1971, and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was an active member of St. Joseph Parish where he was a former member of the Men's Club. Jerry was an avid Giants fan, enjoyed traveling, gardening and his cat the late "Poopers". But most of all he loved spending time with his family. Devoted husband of thirty-six years to Darlene Parkos of Fremont, CA. Loving father of Jason Parkos of Fremont, CA, and Natalie and husband Ben Voros of Citrus Heights, CA, and expectant grandfather to "Peanut". Dearest brother of Rosie (Danny) Meissner, Jeanette Thomas, Diane Frenz, Sara Parkos all of Two Rivers, WI, Dennis Parkos of Manitowoc, WI, Joseph (Thelma) Parkos of South San Francisco, and Eugene (Charlene) Parkos of Oakdale, CT. He was predeceased by sisters Betty Anschutz and Doris Gillis and brothers Stanley, Francis (Jim) and Donald Parkos. Loving Godfather to Lisa Parkos, Jill Gutierrez, Kevin Skillern and the late Leah Skillern. He is also survived by his dear sister-in-law Kathy Skillern and brother-in-law Steve Bettencourt. Jerry's family would like to express a very special thank you to the caring staff at Alameda Care Center-Sub Acute Care. Friends and Family are invited to attend a Vigil service Friday, January 19th at 6:30 p.m. with visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. held at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd. Fremont. A Mass of Resurrection will be, Saturday, January 20th at 10:00 a.m. held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 43148 Mission Blvd, Fremont. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward, CA. following mass.
