John was a Hicksite Quaker who married Mrs. Mary Brill Adriance, widow of Jacob T. Adriance (d1817), Oct. 30, 1819 at Hopewell Reformed Church, Dutchess Co., NY. She was a member of the Reformed Dutch Church. Charles P. Adriance was a witness to John Hopkins' will which was probated June 20, 1838.
