Eliza J. Taylor was born at Portland, Ohio, November 17, 1834, and died October 4, 1921, near Mayetta, Kansas, age 86 years, 10 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage to Thomas H. Landon, January 8, 1852. The fruits of this union were ten children, consisting of six girls and four boys, of whom four girls and one boy preceded her in death and she leaves to mourn her loss Mrs. Sarah Hancher of Whiting, Kan,; Mrs. Lena Peters, Kansas City, Kan.; J. E. Landon, Meriden, Kan.; T. J. Landon and Earl Landon, Mayetta, Kan. . Mother Landon had a great number of grandchildren and great grandchildren . joined the Methodist church . Mother Landon with her children came to Holton Kan., in March, 1889, and has always lived with her son, T. J. Landon, ever since coming to Kansas . interment was in the Holton cemetery .
