John J. Buretta, 72, of 1306 S. 13th St., Manitowoc, died Monday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he was a patient two weeks.
Funeral services will be at 930 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev. Msgr. Alfred Schneider will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Buretta was born June 2, 1895, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Anna Pinkowski Buretta, and married Mary I. Burich Feb. 7, 1921, at St. Boniface Church. He was employed 45 years by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., retiring seven years ago, and was a member of Manitowoc Machinists Local 516.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Daniel A. and Victor N. of Manitowoc, three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Elaine) Osesek and Mrs. Donald (Adeline) Matheys, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Norbert (Lois) Benzshawel of Sheldon, Iowa, three brothers, Andrew and Alois, of Manitowoc and Joseph of Two Rivers, three sisters, Mrs. Ray Boyd, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Alois Rohrer and Mrs. George Tulach, of Manitowoc and 12 grandchildren. A sister, a brother and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday where at 8 p.m. the Rosary will be recited.
