Mrs. Mary Irene Buretta, 71, who resided at 1306 S. 13th St., Manitowoc,
died Thursday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. .Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and
at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev.
Msgr. Alfred Schneider will officiate and burial will be in the Calvary
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Buretta, nee Mary Irene Burish, was born Aug. 15, 1899, at Grimms,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emil Burish. The family moved to Cadott,
Wis., and as a chld she attended school there. She came to Manitowoc to
reside in 1918. She was married to John J. Buretta Feb. 7, 1921, at St.
Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Her husband preceded her in death
Jan. 22, 1968. She was a member of the St. Ann Christian Mothers Altar
Society of St. Boniface Catholic Church, a member of the Manitowoc
County Homemakers and a member of the Machinist Auxiliary No. 516.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel and Victor of Manitowoc; three daughters,
Mrs. Henry (Elaine) Osesek and Mrs. Donald (Adeline) Matheys of Manitowoc
and Mrs. Norbert (Lois) Benzshawel of Sheldon, Iowa; four brothers, James
of Manitowoc, Emil and Edward of Cadott and Clarence of Chippewa Falls;
two sisters, Mrs. Charles Hill of Green Bay and Mrs. Anna Rykal of Cadott
and 12 grandchildren. A granddaughter preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where a Rosary will
be recited at 7:30 p.m. by the Christian Mothers Altar Society, members
of the parish and friends.
