ELYRIA - Esther Adam (nee Black), 80, of 41332 Shadden Rd., died yesterday at her home following a two-year illness.
Born in Onag, Hungary, Aug. 15, 1899, she lived in the area for 54 years and was a member of Abbe Road First Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Martha) Zimmerman, Mrs. Dean (Theresa) Burkett, South Amherst, Mrs. Robert (Faith) Helmling, Wellington, and Mrs. Howard (Vickie) King, Elyria; three sons, Abel of Memphis, Tenn., Joseph, Vermilion and David at home; a sister Elizabeth Black, Onag, Hungary; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Adam in 1953.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Curtis-Scheuffler Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Cole D. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Cemetery, Lorain.
