Elder WC Jones was born on October 5, 1950 to GW and Sarah Jones. His parents moved the family to California while he was a young child. He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Los Angeles and Compton, CA.
WC began experimenting with marijuana and other drugs while a teenager. His life spiraled downward and eventually, he became addicted to heroin. He fathered a daughter, Nancy, during this period but this change did not cause him to improve himself. Fortunately, two gentleman witnessed to him about the saving power of Jesus Christ, and WC believed the gospel in 1972. He joined Starlight Church and eventually his parents and siblings followed, all giving their lives to Christ as well.
WC married Demetris Jones in 1975 and the two had a daughter Trishena. Demetris passed away in 1999.
WC continued serving the Lord as Assistant Pastor of Starlight Church. He briefly pastored other churches: Golden Gate Church in San Francisco and Antioch Church in Monrovia.
In 2004 he married again, this time to the former Sheila Bingham, who remained his devoted wife until his passing on April 3, 2015.
His parents also preceded him in death. His remaining family members include his wife Sheila; his daughters, Nancy and Trishena; sisters Mary, Margaret, Linda, Doris, Regina, Betty and Sharon; his brother Isaac; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, his Pastor, Elder O.J. Benjamin, his parishoners at Starlight Church, and many, many friends.
