Effie Mae was the daughter of George Thomas and Sarah Kathryn Austin Salyers. She was a resident of McDowell County for 65 years and was of the Holiness Faith. She lived 10 years with her daughter in Bluefield, Virginia.
She married William "Bill" Warren and from this union, she had a son, Samuel W. Warren (wife, Agnes) of Max Meadows, Va. and a daughter, Wanda Lou Warren Goodman (husband, the late William "Bill Mack"). She leaves behind her two children, five grand children and six great grand children to mourn her death. Effie Mae also had two children each of which were born and died on the same day as their birth, Linda and Lucky. (Effie Mae was known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as "Mamaw Mae.)
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Vider, with whom she enjoyed many years of happiness as he helped her raise her two children. They were together until his death and Effie's remains will lie beside Ern in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, West Virginia.
Effie Mae had a positive spirit and zest for life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Burial arrangements are being handled by Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, 3431 Coal Heritage Road,Bluefield, West Virgnia, 24701. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West virginia with Rev. Mary Lambert officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, West Virginia where grandsons and great grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Friday, april 17, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.
