JOHN KOTOWSKI

John Kotowski (above) of 1516A Marshall St., Manitowoc,
died Monday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc,
where he had been confined 16 weeks. Mr. Kotski was 89.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface
Catholic Church. The Rev. Alfred Pritzl will officiate and burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Kotowski was born in Germany Dec. 26, 1868, son of the
late John and Augusta Pankau Kotowski. He came to the
United States as a young man and settled at Chicago, moving
later to the Town of Newton, Manitowoc County. He married
Josephine Neilitz of Newton at Kenosha Feb. 11, 1897.
The couple farmed near Osman, later moving to Manitowoc
where for 30 years Mr. Kotowski operated a truck farm on
South 35th Street. He was a member of the Holy Name Society
of the church.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Anton Scherer, and a
son, Joseph, of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Martha Kluth, of
Berwyn, Ill., a granddaughter and three great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday where
the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. by Daughters of Isabella
and the Holy Name Society.
