Harold J. Mueller, age 88, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at the center.
A Memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2000, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial mass will be Rev. Paul DeMuth, with burial of the cremated remains a Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.
He was born August 7, 1911, in Manitowoc, son of the late John C. and Ida L. Pfeffer Mueller. Harold graduated was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1929. On July 14, 1953, he married the former Florence Egan Clark in Menasha. She preceded him in death December 29, 1998. Harold began his employment with the family business. J.C. Mueller Grocery & Oil Company and later was employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding & Engineering retiring in 1986. Harold was a member of St. Boniface Congregation and United States Trotting Association.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Brenda Mueller, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Michael Derby, Henderson, Nev.; two step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Ellen and Paul Schnell, St. Nazianz, Joanie and Leo Szydel, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mildred DeMuth, Manitowoc, Virginia Vukman, California; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Violet Mueller, California, Richard and Jeanne Mueller; Manitowoc, Donald and Ellen Mueller, North Carolina. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Jr. and Eugene and two sisters, Eunice Mueller and Germaine Geiger.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Boniface Catholic Church from 9 a.m. Friday, until the time of service at 10 a.m.
A special thank you to the third floor nurses at Shady Lane for the wonderful care given to Harold.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
