CLIFTON, N.J. — Elizabeth "Betty" (Whalen) Berna, age 88, of Clifton, passed away on Wednesday, November 26th 1997 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Clifton, N.J.

She was born on March 21st 1909 in Witherbee, N.Y., she wasthe daughter of John F. and Sophia Whalen.

She lived in Clifton, N.J., for about 25 years before moving back to Moriah, N.Y. in 1974.

She was former owner of the Dayton Restaurant in Clifton, N.J. for 10 years, retiring in 1974.

She was the past president of the Moriah Senior Citizens, a member of the Moriah Garden Club and a member of the Mineville Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She was predeceased by her husband; Leo Berna in 1976.
