WILLIAM ROGERS was born on October 14, 1763, in Halifax, Virginia to DOSWELL ROGERS (1736 – 1800) and ANNE (1740-?). He married ROSANNA HURD and they had 12 children together. He then married Susannah Walling and they had four children together. He died in 1822 in Sparta, Tennessee, at the age of 58, and was buried in White County, Tennessee.

Last Will And Testament Of William Rogers:
In the name of God, Amen. I William Rogers of the State of Tennessee and County of White, being sick, but of sound mind and memory, do truly make this my last will and testament.

First I command my body to the dust to be buried with a decent Christian burial, and my love to God who gave it, and touching my worldly state where with it both pleased God to help me with,

I bequeath and in the following measure give - 1st I give to my oldest children to wit Peggy Wilie, Nancy Roberts, Dauswell Rogers, Betty Thurman, William Rogers, Emmanuel Rogers, James Rogers, Fountain Rogers, Rosanah Thurman, Mary Smith, George Rogers and Catharine Rogers, One dollar each.

2. It is my will that my beloved wife Susanna Rogers shall have all my personal and real estate, both in doors and out doors (after my just debts are paid) for her and her four last children, to wit Anderson Rogers, Thomas Rogers, Elisha Rogers and Isham Rogers, to live during an, during her widowhood, or the youngest should come of age, and then at her marriage, or the coming to age of the youngest it is my desire that all my personal and real property, both in doors and out doors shall be equally divided between my beloved wife and her above named children,
lastly I constitute and appoint my beloved son Dauswell Rogers, and my step son Joseph Herd executors to this my last will and testament, and I hereby disannul, and disallow and revoke all former wills or wills, executors or executors.

In witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this 26th day of October 1821.
