PARKS, Leslie Age 91 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton/Sunrise on Wednesday, February 14, 2007. He was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky on May 26, 1915 the son of Ancil and Mary (Cupp) Parks. Leslie was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was employed at Hamilton Tool for 25 years, retiring in 1972. Leslie enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and gospel music. He was a member of Church of God of the Union Assembly, where he served as a deacon for over 50 years. On February 3, 1935 in Williamsburg, Kentucky he married Oma Watson. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Oma Parks of Hamilton; four children, Kenneth (Shelba) Parks of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Betty (Ronnie) Sowder of Fairfield, Jerry (Hilda) Parks of Hamilton, and Donald (Phyllis) Parks of Ross; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ancil "Junior" Parks of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters, Dorothy Cox and Naomi Wilkes, both of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Deloris McKinny of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jesse Parks; two grandchildren; four brothers, Garrett, Everett, Cecil, and Estle; and two sisters, Stella Bowling and Sophie Parker. Funeral Service will be held at the Church of God of the Union Assembly, 1814 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Oley Wilson and Pastor Brent Sowder officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Leslie's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Hamilton for all their loving care and support.
