Born in Zleby Bohemia. Son of John Linhart and Marie Prohaska. Arrived in America on May 9, 1905 on the Kaiser Wilhelm II. The family farmed in Wisconsin in the early 1900s and then moved to Chicago. Most of the Linharts worked for the Furhman and Foster Company. John married Catherine Rejlek in Merrillan Wisconsin on January 25, 1913. They lived in Chicago, in Windemere, North Dakota, and in Union Pier, Michigan. They had three children. Catherine divorced John in 1922 and moved to Chicago with the children. He then married Josphine Košik on September 6, 1924. John and Josephine had one child. That marriage also ended in a divorce. He remarried Catherine around 1948. After her death in 1951, he married Marie Sourek on December 20, 1952. He outlived Marie Sourek Linhart.
