To her grandchildren she was known as Mama Dolly. She was a very special person. If their has ever been a Christian and God fearing woman, this was her. She loved God with all her being. She was kinda like the Bible character Job. No matter how much she lost, she never turned against God. Frank and Dolly had six children. She buried five of the six before she died.
In 1947 on their way home from church her son Robert and his sister Etta was riding on the back of the truck. Robert fell off and went under the truck wheel and died from his injuries, Robert was 11 years old, he was her 2nd born child, and she kept trusting in the Lord. In 1941 her 4th born child Luvon (1 mo old) died of pneumonia and whopping cough, she kept trusting in the Lord. one week later, her 3rd born child (3 yrs. old) died of pneumonia and whopping cough, she kept trusting in the Lord. In 1965 she lost her daughter Etta. Etta (31 yrs old) was killed by her second husband. Etta was her 1st born child. Dolly kept trusting in the Lord. In 1986, her son Lester(41 yrs old),her 5th born child, was murdered in Laurel, Ms., she still was trusting in the Lord. Only one her children out of six was alive when she died. Her husband Frank died 1968. I am most certain she had a halo full of gems on her head when she was met at the gates by her family and the one she never gave up on.
