Annette L. Uhlig, age 85, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Annette was born August 31, 1929 in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late George and Leona Ohse Hemb. Annette was employed as a waitress at Stock's Supper Club for 17 years and also was a seamstress at Johnson Hills Department Store. On May 1, 1948 she married Elmer E. Uhlig at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Annette was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church and sang in the church's mixed choir. She had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post #10402 in Amberg where she held the offices of secretary and treasurer. Annette was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Otto-Oas Post #659 Auxiliary in Manitowoc holding the office of treasurer. She was also active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary as President of District #8 for seven years and then became the Auxiliary Department President for the State of Wisconsin from 2005 to 2006. Annette was a member of the Cootie's Puptent #23 in Green Bay. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing for her grandchildren and great grandchildren along with quilting which was enjoyed by all of her family. Annette was an avid dartball player for over 50 years.She is survived by her husband of 67 years: Elmer; four children: Maynard (Carolyn) Uhlig, Sierra Vista, AZ; Sharon (James) Wondrash, Two Rivers; Jelane (Gary) Stone, Two Rivers; Jeffrey (Debbie) Uhlig, Sparta; ten grandchildren: Barb, Patti, Michael, Michelle, Heather, Graig, Beth, Ashley, Macie, and Alexie; seven great grandchildren with one great grandchild due in January 2016; one sister: Marcella Arnst, Sheboygan; one sister-in-law: Margaret Hemb, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Leona Hemb; two brothers: George L. and Marvin Hemb; and two great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 916 Pine Street, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Bruce E. Schwark with burial to follow at Knollwood Cemetery.
