She was born in Pomeran Germany. Came to the Unites States in 1849 & settled in Manitowoc, WI where she met August Schwartz. They were married in 1859 in the '80's they moved to Brown County & settled on a farm in Home. This couple had 13 children. August passed away in 1905 leaving the widow and younger children to run the farm. in 1914 she moved to town to make her home with her daughter Mrs. Evans (Mary) Six othr daughters and six sons survive her as follows, Joseph of Colby, WI; John of Grantsburg, WI; Mrs. Portlew, Mrs. Wolfe and Mrs. Dineen of Minneapolis; Mrs. Rasmussen of Maple Plaine; Mrs. Faas of New Ulm; Mrs. Neumann of Wood Lake; Charles, Nick, Peter and August of Sleepy Eye. The funeral took place at the residence of Mrs. Evans, her daughter.
