MARSHALL, Ill. - Ray P. Forsythe, 84, of Route 3 died Saturday morning, July 13, 1996, in his residence. He was a retired farmer and livestock dealer. He was born Sept. 21, 1911, in Clark County to Norman Forsythe and Anna Mae Fawley Forsythe. He married Martha Myles Forsythe on April 23, 1937 in Robinson, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 1982. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald R. Forsythe and Jean Forsythe of Inverness, John D. Forsythe and Judith Forsythe, and James R. Forsythe and Betty Jo Forsythe all of Barrington; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne K. Freeman and Patrick Freeman of Evansville, Ind.; two sisters, Lila Myrick and Mahala Lewis both of Terre Haute; special friend, Lois Letner of Marshall; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Marshall Lodge 133 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons and Scottish Rite Valley of Danville. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Pearce Funeral Home, with Brother Jeff Noel officiating. Burial is in Forsythe Cemetery.
