Mahala Forsythe Lewis
Mahala Forsythe Lewis, 93, of Terre Haute, Ind., formerly of Marshall died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 1998 in Davis Health Care Center at Terre Haute, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with the Rev. Donald Graham officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday with the family present one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born April 20, 1904 in Clark Co., the daughter of Norman and Anna Mae (Fawley) Forsythe. She was married to John W. Lewis, Jr. on February 2, 1927 at Terre Haute, Ind. And he preceded her in death on August 12, 1977.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Ingram of Terre Haute, Ind and Janice Marsh of Marshall; a sister, Lila Myrick of Terre Haute, Ind.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lewis was member of the First Congregational Church of Marshall, the Walter Burdick Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; Daughters of 1812, Sangamon River chapter and was a charter member of the Clark county Historical Society.
