Lila Doyne “Tootsie” Forsythe Myrick, 102, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday September 26, 2017 at 2:20 pm in her residence. She was retired from GTE and the Indiana State university Library. Lila was born October 16, 1914 in Clark County, IL to Norman Forsythe and Anna Mae (Fawley) Forsythe. She is survived by nieces, Joan Lewis Ingram of Terre Haute, Janice Lewis Marsh of Marshall, IL, Lynda Forsythe of Hamilton, VA, and Jeanne Forsythe Freeman of Evansville; nephews, Gerald R. Forsythe of Inverness, IL, John D. Forsythe of Lake Barrington, IL, and James R. Forsythe of Glenview, IL and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married December 9, 1953, Glenn E. Myrick, and died in 1995; a niece Marilyn Goodrich; sisters, Dovie Forsythe, Lena Forsythe, and Mahala Forsythe; and brothers, James Forsythe, Alva Forsythe, and Ray Forsythe. She was a member of Walter Burdick Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Marshall, IL. Visitation will be Saturday September 30, 2017 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hands that Serve, LLC and VNA of the Wabash Valley for their wonderful care.
