Andrew Witczak, 76, of 918 S. 34th St. Manitowoc, died at his home Wednesday following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Leschke Bergner Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Msgr. John Landowski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
Mr. Witczak was born Nov. 12, 1881 in Posen, Poland, son of the late Felix and Catherine Banszek Witczak. He came to America with his parents as a child and settled at Calumet, Mich. He married the late Anna Strzyzewski, July 12, 1904. After coming to Manitowoc he worked at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co. and retired ten years ago. Mr. Witczak was a former secretary of the Polish Alliance and of the Railroad Union.
Survivors include four sons, Harry, Joseph, Leonard and Felix of Manitowoc; six daughters, Mrs. Harry Zinkel, Mrs. Ervin Roberts and Mrs. William Burton of Manitowoc, Mrs. Joseph VanDruska and Mrs. Alfred Birr of Two Rivers and Mrs. LaVerne Erickson of Milwaukee; a brother, Stanley of Manitowoc, four sisters, Sr. Mary Margaret at the Monastery of St.Dominic in Newark, N.J., Mrs. Francis Rogola, Mrs. Rose Berger and Miss Catherine of Manitowoc; 26 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Sunday. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
