Norman T. Kubsch, age 87, of 1414 Main St., Kellnersville, died Monday evening, June 16, 2003, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Norman was born Jan. 22, 1916, in the town of Kossuth, son of the late Matt and Mary Kliment Kubsch. He attended the Palm Grove School and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1934. He married Marie L. Petska on May 21, 1941, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The couple celebrated 62 years of marriage together. Norman was a teacher at the Palm Grove School from 1941 to 1946. He was an electrician at Anheuser Busch from 1946 until 1962.

Norman and Marie owned and operated Kubsch’s Country Inn in Kellnersville from 1962 until 1977. Norman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville; St. Joseph Holy Name Society; Izaak Walton League of America Chapter#138 of Manitowoc; 3rd Degree member of the Manitowoc Council #710 Knights of Columbus; Eagle Aerie #706 of Manitowoc; charter member of the Kellnersville Betterment Association (KBA) and was on the first Board of Directors of the Kellnersville Housing Corporation in 1976; former member of the Francis Creek Lions Club; He played and managed baseball at Kellnersville in the Manitowoc County League for many years. Norman was a member of the Manitowoc County Old Timers League. He was enshrined into the Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame in 1993. In the early 1960s, Norman and Marie donated the property now known as the Kellnersville Village Park to the KBA for the betterment of the community.

Survivors include his wife Marie, Kellnersville; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Kenneth and Dr. Sylvia Kubsch, Green Bay; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol Kubsch and Chris Blaha, Kellnersville; four grandchildren, Becky and Tim Salek, Manitowoc; Kristin, Kimberly, and Kevin Kubsch, Green Bay; one great-granddaughter, Amaya Salek, Manitowoc; one brother, Erwin Kubsch, Sheridan, Wyo.; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Rose Kubsch, rural Manitowoc; Dorothy and Walter Muench, Whitelaw; Viola Stetson, Kellnersville. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Kubsch, on Feb. 10, 1974; one sister, Erma Zigmunt; two brothers, Reinhardt Kubsch and Orville Kubsch; two brothers-in-law, Ted Zigmunt and Raymond Petska; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Kubsch and Elaine Kubsch.

Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Kellnersville on Wednesday (TONIGHT), June 18, 2003 from 4 until 8 p.m. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. led by Sr. Marlene Greatens.
