Bernard G (Ben) Kamke, 78, 1225 East Francis Street, Appleton, passed away at his residence Feb. 11, 1988, following a heart attack.

He was born April 21, 1909 in Wayside, Wisconsin.
Mr Kamke and the former Edna Knoespel were united in marriage Oct. 21, 1937 at Zion Evangelical Church in Forest Junction.
They owned and operated the Elm Grove Cheese Factory in the town of Freedom for ten years after their marriage. Mr Kamke then became employed with Outagamie County and worked there until his retirement in 1972. His present church affiliation was with St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Freedom. Mr and Mrs Kamke recently celebrated their 50th years together in marriage.

Survivors include his wife, four daughters and sons-in-law; Enola and Wayne Staeven, DePere; Sharon and Dick Perock, Green Bay; Loma and Jim Dorn, Appleton; and Ardyce and Dave Buss, Appleton; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Elmer and Leona Kamke, Manitowoc; and Rupert and Dorothy Kamke, Brillion; two sisters, Hilda Broehm, Brillion; and Norma Boeder, Green Bay; 11 grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Celia Kamke, Kaukauna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ida Kamke; a brother, Elsford; and two brothers-in-law; Elmer Boeder and William Broehm.

Funeral services were conducted at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, French Road, with the Rev Ronald Ash officiating. Interment was in St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery.
