Rupert W. Kamke, 72, rural Brillion, died Monday, March 3, 1989, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 27, 1916, in the town of Brillion, son of the late Fred and Ida Kruse Kamke. He married Dorothy Schultz Oct. 2, 1948 at Wayside. He farmed in the town of Brillion until 1966. He was then employed by the Larsen Company as a field Mechanic until retiring in April of 1982. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Judy Jodar, Brillion; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerry and Ray Kamke, Lisbon, ME; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Hilda Broehm, Brillion; Norma Boeder, Green Bay; a brother and three sisters-in-law , Elmer and Leona Kamke, Manitowoc; Ceil Kamke, Kaukauna; Edna Kamke, Appleton; seven brothers-in-law and seven sisters-in-law, Harold and Bernice Schultz, Norman and Esther Schultz, all of Wayside; Eleanor Frieck, Marvin and Kathy Behnke, all of Kaukauna; Gilbert Schultz, Art and Marlene Schultz, all of Greenleaf; Eddie and Gertrude Pagel; Florence Allen, all of Little Suamico; Gil and Lauraine Bruss, West Bend; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne; a son-in-law, Willard Jodar; and three brothers.
Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion. Burial was in the Bluff Cemetery.
