Fred Kamke, 88, a retired Town of Brillion farmer, died after a short illness Thursday at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay.
He was born Oct. 8, 1877, in the Town of Maple Grove, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kamke. He married Ida Kruse in June of 1900. Mr. Kamke farmed in the Town of Brillion until retiring in 1954, when he went to live with his son, Rupert, at R. 1, Brillion. His wife preceded him in death in 1959.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church, Kassen.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William Broehm, Hilbert, and Mrs. Elmer Boeder, Wayside; four sons, Elmer of Wayside. Elsford and Bernard of Kaukauna, and Rupert of R. 1, Brillion; 18 grandchildren and 14 great - grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Adele Setterly and Mrs. Hanna Wigman, both of Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Bartholomew Church, Kassen, with the Rev. Martin Schneider, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Bluffs Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, from 2 p.m. Saturday until 12:30 p.m. Sunday and at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
