Leroy K. Fischer, age 89, formerly of 8623 County Trunk JJ, Manitowoc, and a current resident of Artisan Assisted Living, 1480 North 7th Street, Manitowoc, passed away Thursday evening, October 15, 2015 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.

Leroy was born on December 15, 1925 in Manitowoc, son of the late Reinhart and Elda (Behnke) Fischer. He attended schools in the Manitowoc area. On May 31, 1947 he married to the former Arline Bremer at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2010. Leroy served in the U. S. Army. Leroy farmed his entire life. He was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. Leroy enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his three sons: Llewellyn (Lynn) Fischer, Manitowoc; Lawrence (Pam) Fischer, Manitowoc; Larry (Lois) Fischer, Valders; one daughter: Lanette (Verlyn) Schleis, Mishicot; six grandchildren: Thomas (Janis) Fischer; Robert Fischer and his special friend; Cyd Wessel; Matthew Fischer; Kristin (Dale) Schneider; Alison (Jake) Schaus; Melissa (Wes) Melvin; seven great grandchildren: Callie Preiss and special friend: Tyler Gass; Maleigha Fischer; Mallory Melvin; Zach Melvin; Addelyn Schaus; Elsie Schaus; Owen Schneider; one sister: Ardella Gaedtke; one sister-in-law: Bernice Fischer; one brother-in-law: Kermit Hackmann, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Reinhart and Elda Fischer; his loving wife: Arline Fischer; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harvey and Anna Bremer; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Eugene Fischer; Wallace (Evelyn) Fischer; one sister: Doraine Hackmann; and two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Jerome Gaedtke; Arno (Lucille) Hackmann.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Military services will be accorded by the American Legion Drews-Blesser Post #88. Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in Leroy’s name can be made to Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church.
