Aug. 20, 1931 - Oct. 31, 2015 Addie Lee Overstreet, 84, of Vancleave, MS, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Ocean Springs, MS. She was born on August 20, 1931 in Jackson County, MS to the late John Jacob and Minnie Lee Holden Overstreet. Aunt Addie, as everyone knew her, loved hunting and fishing. Although she had no children of her own, she was a mother to many and will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Aunt Addie was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Henry, Bill, and Lloyd Overstreet; sister, Lois Pierce; sisters-in-law, Christine, Aubrey, Lorraine, Nancy and Willene Overtreet; brothers-in-law, James A. "Tony" Pierce, Jack Carnley and Jack Hamilton Sr.
She is survived by her brothers, R.V. (Kit) Overstreet and Roscoe Overstreet; sisters, Jennie Vee Carnley, Betty (Curtis) Wilson, Inez (Ted) White, and Frances Hamilton; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Magnolia Baptist Church in Vancleave, MS. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Chase Elkins and Bro. Greg Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Jeffery Hamilton, Hunter Overstreet, Justin Cunningham, Hunter Salter, Jared Salter, and J.D. Carnley serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Magnolia Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 5153 Vancleave, MS 39565.
