Virginia M. Barbeau, age 94, a resident of Shady Lane, Manitowoc, died on Thursday afternoon, December 3, 2015 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

Virginia was born on August 24, 1921 in Brookfield, IL, daughter of the late Herbert and Aletta (Auberg) Gerroll. She was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1937. On June 27, 1942 she married Robert Barbeau at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2011. Virginia was employed with the Manitowoc Hotel as a waitress and later retired from Manitowoc Tinsel. She loved to bake and decorate cookies, especially during Christmas time.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: David & Sharon Barbeau, Whitelaw, Thomas & Jean Barbeau, Manitowoc; three daughters and sons-in-law: Patricia & James Danielson, Baileys Harbor, Jane & Robert Kellerman, Sturgeon Bay, Marianne & Thomas Haag, Newton; seven grandchildren: Scott (Felice) Danielson, Susan (Jason) Dercks, John (Amy) Kellerman, Lisa (Chad) Nigl, Lynn (Steve) May, Melissa (Mike) Kolkovich, Michael (Amanda) Brixius; step grandchildren: Charles Schmeda, Maggie Schmeda and Jessica (Trent) Fischer; 17 great grandchildren; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Shirley Kretsch, Kiel, Betty & Leo Holschbach, Manitowoc, and Phylis Leschig, Greenwood, IN; one sister-in-law: June Gerroll, Two Rivers. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law: Lawrence & LouAnn Gerroll, Robert Gerroll; one son-in-law: Darryl Brixius; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mark & Mae Barbeau, Lila & John Spjut, Elizabeth & Warren Gamble, Mary Ann & Lester Novy, Max & Maxine Mrotek, Roy Kretsch, Walter Leschig; Ralph & Janice Englehardt.

Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, December 7, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo (1121 North 14th Street), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry with burial of Virginia's cremated remains to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, December 7, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
