STREATOR- John M. (Apple) Appel, 70, died at 3:21 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Winterrowd Funeral Home, the Rev. Lawrence R. Tagg officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Lostant.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 o'clock tonight.
He was born Nov. 24, 1898, in Streator, a son of John and Kathrine Loesch (Apple) Appel. He married Emma Elizabeth Jones Dec. 30, 1925, in Ransom.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. William McCully, Daleville, Ind.; two sons, LaVerne, Tucson, Ariz.; and Robert, Manville; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Peterson, Morris; and 13 grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
Mr. (Apple) Appel was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer and a trucker.
